Seiko Academy (成功学園 Seikō Gakuen) is a high school in West Tokyo.
Seiko Academy is based off of Kōusei Gakuin (光星学院高等学校), now known as Hachinohe Gakuin Kōusei. (八戸学院光星高等学校). They are a powerhouse school out of Aomori prefecture, though probably they're more known for making three straight calendar Koshien finals, but losing all 3:
- 2011 Summer - Lost 11-0 to Nichidai-san
- 2012 Spring - Lost 7-3 to Osaka Tōin
- 2012 Summer - Lost 3-0 to Osaka Tōin
The were surprisingly eliminated in the first round of the West Tokyo Regional Tournament qualifier for the 89th Summer Koshien. Around the same time, a situation developed which got their coach, Coach Kumakiri, suspended.
They performed better in the Tokyo Fall Tournament qualifier for the 84th Spring Koshien. They defeated Sensen Academy in the quarterfinals, but lost to Seidou High in the semi-finals.[1]
They were defeated by the current East Tokyo Summer Champions Teito High in the fourth round of the Tokyo Metropolitan Spring Tournament where both Tokyo Blocks compete together in one Tournament. Due to making the fourth round however, they will be a seeded team in the Wast Tokyo Regional Tournament qualifier for the 90th Summer Koshien.
The main feature of the baseball team is their physically powerful batting lineup. The players often wait till the last possible moment before sharply swinging at the ball with both power and speed, which results in long hits.
