— Kunitomo about the team[1]

Inashiro Industrial (稲城実業学校 Inashiro Jitsugyo Gakkō or Inajitsu) is a high school in Hachiōji, a city in West Tokyo, that has a strong baseball team led by Coach Kunitomo Hiroshige and Kanto's no.1 pitcher Narumiya Mei. They are regular participants at both Summer Koshien and Spring Koshien, especially during Kunitomo's tenure as coach, making them one of the prestigious teams of the series.
They are considered one of the big three powerhouse schools in West Tokyo, along with Seidou and Ichidaisan.
Inashiro Industrial is based off of Waseda Jitsugyou (早稲田実業), a powerhouse in real-life and alma mater to HR king Sadaharu Oh. In recent times they last won the Natsu Koshien tournament back in 2006 when they defeated Komadai Tomakomai (represented in the manga by Komadai Fujimaki). They played to a 1-1, 15 inning draw before Waseda win the replay the next day 4-3.
A year before Sawamura's first year of high school, Inashiro defeated Seidou in the semifinals of the West Tokyo Regional Tournament qualifier on their way to the 88th Summer Koshien. They made it to the Round of 16 before getting eliminated.
During Sawamura's first year, Inashiro beat Seidou again in Regional Tournament, this time in the finals. Thus qualifying for the 89th Summer Koshien and for a second consecutive year. Despite getting further than the prior year and thriving on Narumiya's outstanding pitching, they lost in the Final against Komadai Fujimaki in 14 innings, a team that featured the same pitcher relay strategy as Seidou. They ended their season as runners up of the 89th Summer Koshien.
At the Tokyo Fall Tournament qualifier for the 84th Spring Koshien, Inashiro suffered an upset when they lost to Ugumori High School in the second round of the tournament.
After their humbling and shocking defeat in the Fall Tournament, they began their long offseason. They defeated the 84th Spring Koshien semifinalists Yakushi High School 4-0 in the third round of the Spring Tokyo Metropolitan Tournament.
They have reached the semifinals, defeating the previous year's East Tokyo Summer Champions and fellow Summer Koshien participants, Teito High. In the final round, they defeated Ichidaisan High thus, becoming the winners of the tournament. They will also be a seeded team in the West Tokyo Regional Tournament qualifier for the 90th Summer Koshien.
