Target (Tāgetto,ターゲット) is Episode 12 of the Diamond no Ace Anime series. The Episode was aired on December 22, 2013.

Summary[]

Kokushikan is searching for a target in Seido's lineup.

Synopsis[]

In order to destroy the flow of Seidou Naoyuki Zaizen suggests to aim for a target and it's not Eijun - it's Chris! Zaizen knows of Chris' injury and figured, that Chris hasn't the same abilities as in the past anymore. Chris don't realise that he is their target until he makes some mistakes due to his injured shoulder and Zaizen finally shows himself.

Eijun’s still working on perfecting his new pitching form and Kazuya and Chris knows what’s up with the pitch now. He’s so focused on his pitch, his foot isn’t pointed at the plate. It explains his errant pitches.

The true story here is Chris and his recovery. He’s finally got that spark back in his eye for good and he screams out that “This isn’t it yet!” His voice cracks in a nice bit of comedy and it’s a cool dichotomy with how he’s been up until now. When he jumps for a foul ball, everyone’s worried he’ll injure that shoulder again. But this is just how he plays. We just haven’t seen it until now.

After Chris gets on base after the change, Eijun gets a sacrifice bunt to get Chris to second and Haruichi hits a foul ball far to left field. This is after the outfielders move up, thinking that he can’t hit that far. When they move back, they’ve clearly moved into his plan. He hits a short single to right field that’s just enough to get Chris from second to home and keeps a man on base. Chris calls him a batting prodigy, and he’s perfect as the lead-off hitter.
